Extras
I am adding some posts from my own times with God related to the verses in the Peace journal. I don’t have something to say out loud about every single entry. But these are things I might share if you and I were in a small group together.
Let me explain why I structured the book as a blank journal and only include the material below as a supplement: Nothing can take the place of your own personal encounters with your King. That’s where light comes. That’s where growth occurs. That’s where transformation happens.
You’ve got to come talk to Him one on one. I can’t do that for you. And I wouldn’t want you to miss out on it!
A one-sided dump of thoughts from me to you is not going to achieve my goal for this journaling tool– cultivating your own connection with the Father. I welcome you to share some of my journey. Just not at the expense of your own! Anything I say is secondary to what your Heavenly Father wants to say to you. The main course is what you wrote yourself on those pages in your book.
And that also reminds me that God will highlight different facets for each of us even while we’re focused on the same Scripture.
I was meeting weekly with a dear friend to discuss our journal entries. On the second one, Numbers 6, she shared how God had used the whole chapter on the Nazirite vow to convict her about the seriousness of the words we speak before God. I said, “Wow. I totally skipped the Nazirite vow and just focused on the blessing of Aaron.” Yet God met both of us.
This is not a “right or wrong” kind of book. Let the Holy Spirit take your encounter with Him in whatever direction He desires. And savor the journey!
